Concert
Sets
(2
x 45 minutes)
A typical Steve Slade concert evening would consist of two 45 minute
sets with a brief intermission
inbetween. These would be mostly original tunes with a few select
"covers" thrown in. Any concert set
almost invariably contains a few songs by other northern writers.
Steve is also a great storyteller
and
often
the highlights of the concerts are the stories that he tells to
introduce and frame his piquant and entertaining songs.

Pub
or Lounge Set
(3 x 45 minutes)
Steve "cut his teeth" and learned his craft while entertaining
in the northern bar, pub and lounge
scene with such seminal northern bands as: klondike fuel,
the sled chickens, dizzy grizzly and men with pots.
He still enjoys performing in select pubs, lounges and restaurants.
A typical evening would consist of three
45 minute sets which would inlude a wide variety of musical entertainment.
Steve has an enviable ability
to read a room and proffer entertainment that fits the crowd and
mood without compromising
musical sensibilites, integrity and taste.

Festivals
As
both a founder and then the producer of Whitehorse's Frostbite Music
Festival for it's first decade or so,
Steve has a pretty good grasp on what makes a festival work. And
he brings all that accumulated knowledge
and skill to his appearances as a performer and participant. His
skills as an MC, workshop host and/or participant,
stage manager and entertainer are often in demand on the northern
circuit of festivals, venues, conventions
and musical gatherings.
