Arts in the Park

Arts in the Park is presented
every summer by the Yukon Arts Society and produced by
Steve Slade. The concerts are presented in Lepage Park
(3rd & wood) every weekday from noon to 1 pm. Our
Visual Artists are on
site from 11 am - 2 pm. The show goes on rain or shine!
This a free to the public event.
Performers and Artists are paid through a combination
of
government and funding agencies and all our great comunity
sponsors.
The 2007 Concert Series
is twelve weeks and scheduled to run from
May 23rd - August 10th. This will be our eleventh season.

William Callaghan is originally
from Teslin, Yukon. This young carver has been involved
in traditional native dancing for many years and is a
second year student of the Sundog Retreat Carving Program.
Jared
Lutchman
is a Carcross / Tagish First Nation carver and a member
of Carcross / Tagish Dancers; Geisan Dancers; and has
participated in the Lkoot Kwaan Culture Camp.
He is currently a second year student of the Sundog Retreat
Carving Program.

will be setting up production tools and showing you the
process of creating
stone beads and necklaces. Kerry uses a variety of exciting
materials and processes
to create these treasures including: a drill press, diamond
bits, teflon-coated wire, pliers,
natural Yukon stones and semi-precious gemstones.
Cheechako Girl River Stone Jewellery blends Kerry's fine
craft experience with her healthy northern lifestyle.
